PURE RECOVERY is a liquid concentrate. You take it in the afternoon or directly after physical or cognitive exertion.
For us, this is the bridge: the third concentrate in the GUA-VITA Performance Circle, used at the moment the body begins to return. Whether after training or after a demanding day at work.
PURE RECOVERY contains two groups of ingredients that differ in one important aspect: For one group, there are EU-wide approved claims, and for the other, there are not. The difference is not in quality but in regulatory status in Europe.
Vitamins and minerals with EU-wide approved health claims
In the EU, health claims about food supplements can only be made if they have been reviewed and officially approved by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). These assessments are available for three ingredients in PURE RECOVERY. We communicate them fully here, along with the study basis for the EU assessment.
Vitamin C in PURE RECOVERY is present in a significantly higher concentration than in the morning PRIME POWER. 50 mg per 30 ml from acerola extract and ascorbic acid, which corresponds to approx. 63% of the daily reference value: Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to the normal function of the immune system (EFSA claim; study basis: EFSA 2009;7(9):1226). Magnesium in PURE RECOVERY is included as a triple form of magnesium citrate, magnesium lactate, and magnesium bisglycinate – 62 mg elemental magnesium per 30 ml (approx. 17% of the daily reference value): Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and electrolyte balance (EFSA claim; study basis: EFSA 2009;7(9):1216). Vitamin B6 is included at 0.42 mg (approx. 30% of the daily reference value): Vitamin B6 contributes to normal psychological function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue (EFSA claim; study basis: EFSA 2010;8(10):1759).
Plant extracts and other ingredients fully declared
A significant part of PURE RECOVERY consists of plant extracts and other ingredients for which there are no approved health claims in the EU. A special regulation has applied to plant extracts since 2010: The European Commission has suspended the approval review for health claims related to plant extracts. Since then, no health-related claims may be made for these substances. Regardless of how good the research situation is.
PURE RECOVERY contains the following plant extracts: OPC grape seed extract 95% (150 mg), Rhodiola rosea extract (201 mg), Montmorency tart cherry extract (600 mg), and tart cherry concentrate (660 mg). Additionally, PURE RECOVERY contains potassium from potassium citrate (approx. 119 mg) and sodium chloride (249 mg) — both included as electrolytes in the product.
How GUA-VITA deals with the legal framework for plant extracts is explained in the Transparency Principle.
Because they are an ingredient in PURE RECOVERY and we fully disclose what is in the bottle.
EU law defines which statements are permissible. We communicate what is allowed clearly and with evidence. What the law does not permit for certain ingredients, we openly state in our Transparency Principle.
For us, this is not a limitation. It is the only way a brand that takes its product seriously can communicate.
Note on botanicals:
The contained ingredients are subject to published scientific research. The corresponding publications are freely accessible via public databases such as PubMed of the National Library of Medicine.
Note on regulatory status:
Some of the contained botanicals have been in a regulatory waiting loop (On Hold) since 2010. The official evaluation by the European Commission is suspended. For these substances, no approved health claim is currently available.
Use the concentrate after a long day at work and after a sporting challenge, but only once a day at most. Mix 30 ml of concentrate with 200 ml of cold water.
Is there an alternative? Yes, you can also gradually test it out and adjust the dose flexibly to what feels best for you.
Store the bottle in a cool, dry and dark place. Ideally, put it directly into the refrigerator – it will be perfectly stored there!
Important after opening: Once the bottle has been opened, store it only in the refrigerator and use it within 6 weeks.

What's in it and where does it come from?
The ingredients, their exact dosage, and interesting information.
Tart Cherry - Montmorency
600 mg / 30 ml. extract
The Montmorency cherry is a sour cherry variety (Prunus cerasus), named after the Montmorency Valley north of Paris. It was cultivated there before the 17th century and was considered the preferred fruit for jams and distillates at the French court. Around 1760, French settlers brought scions to the Great Lakes region; today, the cultivation center is in Michigan. Botanically, Prunus cerasus is an allotetraploid hybrid of sweet and dwarf cherry. Its substance profile: Anthocyanins (cyanidin-3-glucoside, cyanidin-3-rutinoside) characterize the dark red color, in addition to flavonoids such as quercetin and kaempferol, chlorogenic acid, procyanidin B-2, malic acid as the dominant fruit acid, and naturally occurring phytomelatonin.

Rhodiola rosea
201 mg / 30 ml concentrate
Rhodiola rosea (rose root) belongs to the stonecrop family (Crassulaceae) and grows on rocky soils in Siberia, Scandinavia, Iceland, and Greenland, as well as in high altitudes up to 5,000 meters in Central Asia. The name comes from the rose scent of the cut rhizome. Vikings and Sámi used the root for centuries; in Chinese tradition, it is known as Hong Jing Tian. From the second half of the 20th century, it became the subject of a Soviet research program. Characteristic compounds include the species-specific phenylpropanoids rosavin, rosin, and rosarin, as well as the phenylethanoids salidroside and tyrosol; extracts are standardized to at least 3% rosavins and 0.8–1% salidroside.

Sour cherry concentrate
660 mg / 30 ml concentrate
Sour cherry concentrate is derived from sour cherries (Prunus cerasus), an allotetraploid hybrid of sweet and dwarf cherries, which originated between the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea, and Asia Minor. Pliny the Elder attributed the introduction of cherries to Italy in 74 BC to the general Lucullus — modern specialized literature now considers this an error. For centuries, cherry juice could only be preserved by fermentation or boiling down; only the vacuum evaporation of the 20th century allowed for gentle concentration at 45–55 °C. The Brix value increases from about 12° to 65–68° during this process. It contains anthocyanins (cyanidin-3-glucoside, -rutinoside), malic acid, fructose, and glucose, as well as benzaldehyde as a characteristic aroma.

OPC Grape Seed Extract
150 mg / 30 ml concentrate
OPC stands for oligomeric proanthocyanidins — a term coined by the Bordeaux pharmacologist Jacques Masquelier. In 1947, in his doctoral thesis, he isolated the group of substances from the red skins of peanuts; in 1948, he found them in the bark of the maritime pine; and in 1951, he patented the extraction process. From 1970 onwards, he switched to grape seeds (Vitis vinifera), a by-product of winemaking with the highest polyphenol density of the grape. The extract consists of monomeric flavan-3-ols ((+)-catechin, (−)-epicatechin), which form OPC as chains of two to ten units; longer polymeric tannins are largely separated.
